Chevrolet Repair: fuel pump, fuel pumps, fuel pump

Question
I have a 1998 blazer 4wheel drive that the fuel pump continues to run for 1 minute after the vehicle is turned off. Is this normal ?If not normal what could problem be?

Hi Mabel, Fuel pumps do run for a short time after you turn off the engine. This could be normal, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can hear the pump running and it seems loud I would replace the fuel filter. These should be done every 30k.
