Chrysler Repair: PT Cruiser control

left side control went off couple times on rough highway, then would not turn on again.

Hi Tom,
Several questions: what is the year model?
         what do you mean by the 'left side control'? What does it 'control'?
         By went "Off", what was working at the time it went off, and does nothing
         work any more?
I need to understand better what is wrong.
