QuestionQUESTION: Roland - We speak again.
2004 Sebring LX Sedan 2.4 DOHC (X) Engine
I was looking to change the plugs and plug wires. It seems that all the websites and literature suggest a 0.040 gap for this car, but the sticker underneath the hood says 0.050...so I assume this is the correct one. Is there a reason why this differs from most of the sites I see?
Furthermore, are the wires likely to be different too? What causes these mixups? Were they using leftover parts?
Thanks again
ANSWER: Hi Jason,
The '04 Chrysler manual gives the gap as .048-.053. So the hood sticker agrees with the manual.
I don't know what aspect of the wires you are questioning. I don't see any specific specs for the those wires in the manual.

QUESTION: You may find this interesting Roland. Apparently Chrysler changed the spec on the gap size to 0.040" with TSB 08-008-04.
AnswerHi Jason,
Yes, that is interesting. However also interesting is that in both the '05 and '06 main manuals the spec is still shown as .048-.053. In '06 there is another 2.4L PZEV engine for which a different plug is specified and with a gap of .046-.051. In any case, did you try the .040 and is it working OK?
