QuestionSo to start back from the beginning I did not know I had
Sentry keys as the car was bought used. My check engine
light came on so I took it to autozone to see what the error
message is. Basically the error said under Chrysler "ECM"
so I went to the junkyard and took the computers from a
wrecked car. Had I known my car was equipped with SKIM I
would have researched more about changing the car's computer
before doing it. I changed the computer in my Rodeo without
complications so I thought this would be similar.
The donor car I had used was same model/year so I had no
reason to think it wouldn't work. Now my car will not
start. It started few times then nothing.
Is there a way to flash or clear the PCM? Or can I replace
it with a non-SKIM PCM?
If so, how can i tell if the car is non-SKIM? And would I
be able to use my same keys or would you suggest replacing
the ignition?
AnswerSorry I hit the wrong button having to do this on my iPhone. The best course of action for u right now is to install a new computer that is made for your car. Visit. Autocomputerexchange.com. They will come programed. Even with the gray key info already. To install
