QUESTION: was driving and the car just stopped running. the engine will crank but seems to have no gas. is this the pump relay or something else?

QUESTION: i ran a code search and it came up p1684 which i have read doesn't mean much. The engine light has been on for awhile(from what my mother has told me) How can you check the fuel pump? I have checked the fuel relays and they seem to be fine.

if the light was on  then U would get more then 1684    the light does not come on for 1684 any way.

U will need a little scanner to at least get the codes for which the light was on for then go from there.

If u unplug the battery or erase any codes that were in there u just made your job and any one else harder to find out why it shut off.
