Chrysler Repair: replacing cigarette lighter: Cirrus, chrysler cirrus 2000, chrysler cirrus

My Chrysler Cirrus 2000 kept blowing a fuse for the horn & cigarette lighter the instant I'd try to replace it.  I reached under the console and pulled the plug to the cigarette lighter and replaced the fuse to see if the lighter was the problem.  Everything works now, but I need to replace the lighter.  Problem is, I can feel the lighter but have no idea how to remove and replace it.  Does it "pop" into place or is there a screw mount?  Do I need to replace it with a Chrysler part so the plug fits or are there generic brands for this?  Thanks for your help.  I love your website!

I don't have a Cirrus to look at but I am wondering if the lighter is located in the cubby bin/lamp area? If so let me know and I will describe how to remove that part. Use the thank/rate tab below to tell me about its location, without having to wait for me to be 'available' for a question.
