Chrysler Repair: 2000 Grand Caravan drivers front seat, recliner mechanism, xerox copy
QuestionHi,
Apologies if you've answered this, there are thousands of questions to search. The latch that controls the driver's front recline broke off this AM (not a power seat). I can see a small yellow metal piece on the end and the seat itself is locked in the upright position (although I have a feeling if I put some pressure it would release back). Any suggestions? I'm trying to fix rather than replace the entire seat.
THX a lot
AnswerHi Rick,
The most recent manual I own is for '98 and in that one it does show that you can dismantle the seat and put in a new recliner mechanism. It would be helpful to have the written instruction along with the drawings that show the parts they speak of. However, this site will not allow for any posting with drawings and I don't have a scanner in any case. I would be pleased to xerox copy anpostal mail you the pages that show how this is done. You might first want to verify with a dealer's parts counter that the manual type seat recliner mechanism is available for your 2000 model year and that it is pretty much the same as for '98. Then use the "thank and rate" tab to respond to me, where you can enter a postal mailing address to which I can send the copy.
