Chrysler Repair: 95 cirrus NO START-- NO SPARK SOLVED, obd, previous question
QuestionRoland
I asked previous question on my no start not spark got codes 12 71 33 from using key on off on off on sequence
Letting you know I got a new complete dist. off ebay $200
It started right up. Service engine light is still on.
Get same codes. My code reader reads both obd I and II but will not communicate "unable to establish connection"
Do you think these codes will go away after 50 good starts?
I have checked out the code 71 per your guidance all 5 V seem ok.
Thanks Tracy
AnswerHi Tracy,
I believe the car is an OBD-I type system so in theory you should be able to erase the codes by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (but I wouldn't do that if you have a theft system on the car as that can sometimes cause a false alarm and shut down). The OBD-I systems are supposed to erase after 50 key on-off cycles if the cause of the code has corrected. I am pleased that you determined the no spark to be the distributor.
Thanks so much for bringing me up to date.
