Chrysler Repair: hi, cna, celebrity

Question

my 1989 6 cyl? or 4? i think 6 european celebrity
compressor broke and i dont have the  $ to fix it
where cna i get a cheap  compressor?  that will either  allow the a/c to work and run the car or just  the latter
price range
for used and new

if not practical what is more strategic
?
junk the car
or sell it for scrap?

At 170K miles on an 89 model you'll be looking to spend about $500.00 to replace the compressor and fill it back up minimal.  I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money on it.  I'd disable the belt for the compressor and keep the car for a cheap daily driver and just drive it in to the ground.  Sell it for scrap or donate it for a small tax right off.
