You didn't describe the trans but let's assume that it a 4-speed automatic with electronic controller. I hear that having your rebuilt at a shop is in the range of $2,000 while to buy a factory rebuilt is $3,000. But I have no personal knowledge of these amounts. It depends upon who does the work and the local hourly shop rates as to how much it will cost as well as which parts have to be replaced. Get several bids and compare the warranty that is offered.
