Chrysler Repair: Turn signal flasher 1995 Acclaim, ken lam, fuse block
QuestionHi Roland,
The LEFT way turn signal stopped brinking but the RIGHT way still works in my 1995 Acclaim. Why?
Where is the flasher located? I've tried but still could not find it yet.I believe it is behind the gages. Is there a single flasher for everything including the emergency light?
Thanks and best regards,
Ken Lam
AnswerHi Ken,
The control switch for the left and right turn function is of course in the multifunction switch on the steering column. When one side doesn't work the usual way to check it is to verify that the front and rear turn bulbs are good on that side, that the black ground leads at the socket are indeed grounded, that the 12V is getting to the bulb in an on-off pattern, and if not then the interior contact of the multifunction switch needs to be checked. The flasher is above the fuse block, mounted on a bracket that is attached to the a/c duct on the drivers side, under the dash.
Try the bulbs etc. and if you don't find that to be the problem I can give you the continuity checks for the 24 numbered connectors at the multifunction plug socket to verify that the issue is internal to that switch. Just write back. Of course you will need an ohm meter or other continuity checker to do that.
