Classic/Antique Car Repair: Cylinder 3 and 4 run hotter?
QuestionHello Jack, is it true that cylinder 3 and 4 run hotter in a Model A engine? If it is true is there anything I can do to prevent the head gasket from being damaged? Many thanks and greetings from Germany. Regards Gernot
AnswerI have never heard of that. If they run hotter, it's not by much. Don't worry about it. Your car probably overheats. Most do, due to a clogged radiator. If you can run 45 mph for a straight 10 min. without overheating, then you have a good system. If you can do that, then your head gasket will be OK. If not, search youtube for "jackbahm" and watch my video about overheating. Good luck. jack
