my 49 is not running good it happened all of a sudden. we changed the plugs  but still missing bad, its a old flat head 6 . dont know what to do thank you for your time terri

Check the fuel pump output. Make sure you are getting fuel to the carb.
Look at the points. If they are pitted or burned, change them.
Rust in the tank???
Water in the gas???
Try a new rotor.
Clean the dist. Cap with tide and water.  
Try a new coil wire.
That's about all I can suggest.
Find a chrysler car club and join it. They will have all the answers.
Search for Walter p. Chrysler car club. A lot of info at that site.
