Classic/Antique Car Repair: Stop light switch, lincon, right position
QuestionI have a 1961 lincon 4dr. The stop light switch is staying on. I replaced it last
year. As you now this an ongoing problem with Fords. Is there a fix for this
problem, like moving the switch to a up right position with a brass fitting?
Thanks for you help. Ed
AnswerTry something for me and let me know the results. have some one watch the stop lights when they are stuck on. Then with the engine running lift the brake pedal with your toe and see if the lights go out. My experience has been that the brake pedal is not releasing far enough and keeping a small amount of pressure on the master cylinder. Let me know.
