Classic/Antique Car Repair: 66 Ranchero, spark plug gap, point gap

What is timing setting /point gap for 1966 Ranchero 289? Car starts fine cold ,will not start at all hot !

Spark plug gap, .034". Point gap, .017". Dwell 26 to 31 degrees. Timing TDC if the engine has an air pump or was supposed to have an air pump, and 6 degrees before TDC%DC if it did not have an air pump.
As far as the hot restart problem it could be a flooding carburetor, an automatic choke that is not opening when the engine is hot, a defective ignition coil, or low engine compression.
