Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1102043 Delco Remy Generator, delco remy, ohm load

My father-in-law is rebuilding a 1957 Corvette.  He has a generator and would
like to know if it can be bench tested at home.  Specifically, can he measure the
Ohm load and if so, what is correct?

I have never seen any specifications for ohms of resistance across a generator for bench testing. You can apply 12 volts to the A terminal on the bench and the ground to the generator case. You should be able to motorize the generator. Then jump the field momentarily to ground and the speed should change. The generator will motor at a slow speed.
