Classic/Antique Car Repair: Looking for a relay switch for 1954 chrysler new yorker, MOPAR starter relay
QuestionWhere can I find a replacement starter relay switch for my 1954 Chrysler new Yorker. Thanks
AnswerThese have been very difficult to find for years. You can try Andy Bernbaum, or any of the other MOPAR parts dealers, but I think you may strike out. Andy's contact info is: www.oldmoparts.com
The only way around this if you cannot find a replacement is to adapt a universal type starter solenoid - such as used on Ford vehicles of the 40s and 50s (it has to be a 6 volt solenoid). These are available from most parts stores such as NAPA. If you are not familiar with electrical repairs, you may need an automotive electrician to work out how to connect the solenoid so it replaces the original starter relay.
