Questionthank you in advance for your help!
I saw an ad for a 1984 v8 el camino, 150,000 miles, $4500.
I wanted to ask if parts are readily available for this car, and if it is something that can be repaired/serviced easily? Do you think its a bad purchase?
thanks!
AnswerThe price is right, but the mileage is a bit high.
Sounds like a "Every Day" driver. If the owner can
produce service records that seem reasonable for the mileage,
that would be a good start. Otherwise you may have to
do some major repairs down the road.
Biggest problems with cars of that age are bearings, differential, brakes, U-joints, shocks and most important engine/tranny condition.
Check these thing out before you buy.
