Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1957 Triumph TR3, axle shaft, triumph tr3

Hi Paul, I have a 57 TR3,  I recently noticed oily discharge on my right rear (wire) wheel. I took the brake drum off and it looks much thicker and greasier than brake fluid- Would the likely culprit be my  rear axel seal or are there other possibilities? Thanks, Rob

Yeah, Rob. Bad news, but you've guessed correctly.

Now you've got to get it to a good mechanic or find somewhere to get the proper tool to break free the axle shaft--I've not done one recently, but the last time was a BEAR.
