Classic/Antique Car Repair: Carpet DIY, indoor outdoor carpeting, triumph tr6

Hi Paul,

I'm working on the interior of a Triumph TR6. In Canada, there seem to be very few autoparts stores that stock automotive carpeting. I'm wondering if a good indoor/outdoor carpet is usable and if so, what should I be looking to put underneath for padding/insolation?

Don't use indoor/outdoor carpeting. It's stiff, tough to install, and looks hokey and non-original.

A number of online vendors sell TR6 carpet kits, cut and bound, and ready to fit, with instructions, in an assortment of colors, for about $200.00 plus shipping.

Promise me you'll do this right. Your TR6 will also run better, didn't anyone tell you?
