Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1953 FORD F-100 WHEELS, ford f 100, split rims
QuestionHi, I have a 1953 Ford F-100 with split rims. I want to replace them with solid rims. So far I am having no luck due to the 5 on 7.75" bolt pattern of the rims. Where can I get or have made (if not insanely expensive) the rims I need?
Thanks
AnswerI'm not a truck guy, so I can't be much help, but I do wonder at your bolt pattern. That 7 3/4" seems way too large - are you sure about that?
I happen to have a 52 F-2 tow truck, and it has the same wheels as any other 3/4 ton truck up to almost the present day - of course these are 8 lug wheels, not anything like yours, but I was pretty sure the 1/2 ton trucks used passenger car wheels - which would be part number 8A-1015D or C - probably 5 on 5 or 5 on 5 1/2 - both of which were the same as used on many other heavy cars of that era. How are you determining the bolt circle?
