Classic/Antique Car Repair: hard starting when hot, carburetor repairs, chrysler windsor
QuestionHi: I have a 1952 Chrysler Windsor. When the vehichle has been run and I shut it off for a few minutes, it has a very hard time re starting. The battery and starter crank OK but no ignition. Suggestions Please.
AnswerI have a hunch that the problem is in the carburetor. Take off the air cleaner and run the engine until it is hot. Then shut it off and look down into the carburetor bore using a flash light. If there is fuel dripping out of the jets you have a defect in the float level or a leaking needle valve. The engine is flooding. Carburetor repairs are in order. Check that and let me know.
