Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1939 engine in a 29 Model A, motor mounts, v8 engine
QuestionI have a 1939 Ford FlatHead V8 engine and transmission that I would like to put in a 1929 Model A 2 door sedan. I don't want to change the appearance of the car. Is this feasible? Would the front end need to be "beefed up"? I know I would have to change the radiator, I have one I could redo.
AnswerIt should fit under the hood but some welding and fabrication for motor mounts and such will need to be done. We did it all the time when I was a teenager. I had a roadster with a similar set up, although I ran with no hood because of cooling concerns.
