QuestionHello,
I am looking to do a complete rewire of a 1967 coup mustang. Wondering if going with a wiring kit would be a good idea? I have experience with wiring in general but never rewired a whole car. If you know of any good ones to buy it would be appreciated.

AnswerI advise buying a complete harness from one of the harness vendors. One I have used is Y and Z's Yesterdays in San Bernardino CA - their harnesses are excellent in quality, and come with very good diagrams, with all the right colors and terminals already installed.
Another vendor I have heard good things about is Rhode Island Wiring company. I'm sure a google search will turn up either of those, and probably many others.
You can of course make your own wiring harness, but to do a decent job, you really need one to copy, and a harness board with guiding posts so you get all the branches and lengths right, and so you know the right colors to use for each wire. It makes a big difference in the installation of the harness to have everything right, and troubleshooting is much easier when you have all the right colors.
I am also very comfortable making wiring harnesses, (I'm an electrical engineer, but I worked as a harness maker when I was a junior engineer), but even with that, I much prefer a professionally made harness for ease of installation and an original appearance.
