Good morning Dick,

Regarding our discussion last week pertaining to my smoking ignition issue, I want to give you some feedback.  I removed the switch, and noticed that there was evidence of charring near two adjacent prongs on the switch (There are a total of 8 prongs on the switch), thus causing a small amount of harness plastic to melt. I was able to locate a NOS switch on ebay, for $22, and I hope to receive it within a week.  Thanks, again for your assistance.  I really appreciate ALL of your guidance.

Yes, you did the right thing, Vince.  Once the area becomes overheated on a switch, the terminals tend to loosen up, and let the circuits get too close to each other inside the switch
 You also got a good deal on eBay!
