Classic/Antique Car Repair: carb swop, electric shift, deferent

ok i have a 78 grand prix with a 301 and a Qjet 4bbl and a 86 trans am with a 305 with a Qjet 4bbl . the trans am bogs out after half peddle  and my grand prix is geting a new engine so i wanted to take the carb off the grand prix and put it on the trans am but the 2 Q jets ar deferent modles  can i swap them  and if i can is the th700r4 vacuum shift or electric shift and would i have to use the spacer plate with the vacuum shift hose from the grand prix on the trans am ???????????????????  any help is greatly  appreciated thank u

cab swap... the answer you are looking for needs alotmore technical data than i have. you need to research the carbd data and see if they are swapable.
also. i would advice you to check out the firebird forum sites. i'm sure someone there hastried this good luck
