Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1972 Pontiac Lemans Voltage Regulator, 1972 pontiac lemans, side fender

Hello!
I have a 1972 Pontiac Lemans.  Now I was told that i needed to change my Voltage Regulator and since I am just learning how to fix things on my own..I haven't a clue where to find it. Can a help a Poor Girl out..I need my car for work and the dern thing is giving me a headache!

HI- well it is a small black box about 4x4x3 in size and should have a few wires pluged into it, it should be on the drivers side fender. get it checked with a volt meter to see the voltage you are putting  if it is 13+ thats good but if it is 12 or less thats bad.ok
