Classic/Antique Car Repair: Generator Cleaning, port holes, air computer

Question
I need to clean an old generator for my 61 CJ5.  It has lots of road grunge built up inside it.  How would I go about cleaning one?  Solvent of some kind? Blow it out with air?

Jim, yeah I'd go shopping for spray bombs of Degreaser & compressed air (computer kind)

Then you can finish with your compressor hooked up and blow the rest out, hang up and let dry then Oil it, you should have 2 port holes for oiling just above shaft and behind pulley
