Classic/Antique Car Repair: Another question about previous question..., advance auto parts, halogen headlights
QuestionDick,
Thanks for the answers earlier. I asked you many questions about the '67 Mustang. You suggested buying a new breaker. Where can I buy the new breaker? Do you have a suggested brand or a part number that I can go by? Is it just something that I could walk into my local advance auto parts to get or will I have to go to a more specialized mustang parts store? Again thanks for your reply, you've saved me lots of money as my first guesses was just poor wiring so I was looking into buying a whole new headlight harness, which from what I've seen, is usually around 140 bucks.
Thanks again!!
Drew
AnswerIf I recall the correct Q&A, we were 'talking' about the circuit breaker on the headlight switch, right? (I have done over 3000 of these Q&As, and am now doing about 90 a month, so I don't always remember correctly a particular question). Anyway, if that was the one, then you can get a replacement at any auto parts store - I use NAPA because the qualtity is always good, but many other places have them also. They are cheap - and pretty standard as far as rating and mounting provisions etc. I'd try a 40 amp breaker if you want to run Halogen headlights. Your car probably came with a 30 Amp breaker, and that's OK too, if you still have the standard sealed beam lamps.
If I've guessed wrong, just post a "follow up" question to me and it will come up as an attachment to this one.
