Classic/Antique Car Repair: choke light 84 elca, wd 40, chevrolet el camino

Can you tell me why the choke light is going on somtimes ? I didn't know ther was a choke light until it came on. This is a 1984 chevrolet El Camino. thanks, karen

Hi - well you might need some adj. or the  wire plug that
goes to the choke could be loose. just check to see if it is on tight. and you can spray the choke   up good with some luq. wrench or wd-40.and it will loosen it up good if it is sticking on you. if you are not having any trouble starting or with stalling , I would not worry that much and get to it when you can.
