Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1955 FORD F100, gauge kit, gas gauge

Question
I just purchesed a 5 gauge kit from midwest early ford. it also came with a gas sending unit. i dont have the permanet gas tank on my truck. should i go ahead and install the new gauges or wait till i get the gas tank instsalled and do it all at once?

I really doesn't hurt anything to just leave the wire that goes from the gas gauge back to the sender disconnected - just make sure the end of it is taped up so it cannot touch anything metal.  When you get your tank setup installed, just hook it up to the  sender and everything should work fine.
