QuestionStock 372 in., 250HP, in "orginial" 65 Malibu Show Car needs rebuit. Block has 65k miles. Need more HP without changing stock appearance. Car has 2 speed automatic and 9 bolt rear end. Advise on the right rebuild kit and block bore requirements to get most HP for the buck and keep the orginal cream-puff look and sound. Thank you.

Hi- well you have a small 327. so if I were you I would go .030 if you are going to bore it / or keep it stock- than you can look in the catalog from (summit racing) and there are a lot of engine rebuild kits in it. or you and just get new pistons for it and replace all bearings, rings, seals, etc. and than get a cam kit for it .and have the heads sent out and new springs put on. and a aluminum intake with a nice 4bbl. carb and some hi out put ing. system and headers and you will have a nice street set up.than have the tranny sent out for a h.d. rebuild, and replace the rear end.or you could go for a crate motor ?
buy as far as stock you wish to keep your motor. right
