Classic/Antique Car Repair: carburator, pump fuel, ken ken

small block chev,fresh reman fuel pump,fuel filter,and q-jet carb. After the truck sits for more than a day I don't have fuel at the carb float. If I prime the carb it will  start. What am I'm missing? thanks   ken

   a q-jet- those are great carbs. but you might need to re-build it. your fuel  filter might also be dirty. but it sounds like the exc. pump  in the carb might be split or broken. - get a re-buiulding kit. and if you wanted to get bigger  jets it might give you more pep...
