Classic/Antique Car Repair: 62 chevy c10 235 inline, chevy c10, harmonic balancer

i bought this old truck and the head was missing. so i replaced it with an original type. so now im trying to adjust the valves. so the harmonic balancer is different than the newer ones. its very thin and different than im used too. but anyway there not any signs of a timing mark. is this normal

 HI-  I would say that there should be some type of a mark or at least a line or dot.  and is there no plate ot any  arm on the block. if you are doing the valves cold and by the  timieng mark  can you pop the no# 1 cyld to get it on to the no # 1 plug on the cap this way you will know you are now on TDC.
