Classic/Antique Car Repair: Fuel Tank, new tank, chevy impala
QuestionHello! I have a 64 chevy impala. I was at the gas station filling up when I thought wait a minute it should be done by now. I looked under the car there was a little gas leaking by the fuel tank. The filler neck hose was saturated. I tightened the clamps on the neck hose. I now notice a very slow leak i my garage coming from the left side of the fuel tank. The filler neck hose is not saturated at all. Is it possible to have a leaky gas tank?

HI - well if the tank is dripping and it is not the hose - than it is a hole or seam. you can get a new tank at a good price , check (jc whitney.com ) tell them I sent you. or look in the phone book for a shop. but if the tank is dripping gas than it should be fixed or replaced ok. I had a 64 ss and my tank went . I put in a new one.
