Classic/Antique Car Repair: 56 Ford convertible, white post restorations, old car club

 car has been 3/4 professionally restored including motor. needs chrome refinished,transmission rebuilt & all installed. looking for experienced person/shop on east coast from Ct. to fl. to complete 100%. would appreciate any information you might provide

I'm about as far from the east coast as I can get and not get my feet wet (San Diego area), so I would be foolish to try to guess where you should take your car -  the only shop I know of at all in your neck of the woods is White Post Restorations, in White Post Virginia - you could talk to Greg Cone there and see if you want to do business with them.  They are VERY GOOD, but they are probably rather expensive, also - you'll have to make your own decision about that.

There are "restoration" shops in every town in the USA - you cannot chose one on one person's say-so.  You need to join a local old car club and put in some time meeting people and talking to them - until you build up a network of folks you trust to recommend someone - then check the shop out yourself by inspecting the facilities and talking to people who have had similar work done by that shop.
