Classic/Antique Car Repair: 69 Camaro Lock Cylinder Question, 69 camaro, security locks

Hey, I've been trying to fix my ignition problem, but now i ran into another one, the little gear thats attached to the key that move the rod up and down has some teeth missing so I need to change it, so question 1 how to I remove this, ive tried and cant get it off, hell i cant get the cylinder out, and 2 whats the gear called and is it easily found? THanks, James

Sorry, James, I'm not going to be able to help you with this one - I've never had to get into those early security locks.    I think you're going to have to get someone who knows these better - try your local locksmith to see if he can help you.   

You might be better off getting a replacement column from a wrecking yard, if you can find one - I had to do that on my 69 Cadillac because the last idiot had screwed the whole lock deal up so badly I couldn't fix it.  


There is a trick to getting the cylinder out, but I think you'll need a pro locksmith to help you with that also.
