QuestionHi i have a 1955 plymouth Belvedere. I need to get parts for it. Would you happen to know of any websites? I need a emergency brake cable and can't seem to find it..
AnswerI'd try Andy Berbaum at www.oldmoparts.com first, if you are in a hurry and don't care what it costs.
If you are like the rest of us, though (a little cheap, and in no hurry) start watching eBay for this - just about everything comes up sooner or later. I've repaired quite a few cars with parts bought on eBay, at bargain prices.
One of the sellers on eBay is an outfit called dansoldtimeparts. He is now running a 57 Plymouth emergency brake cable. Go to his auction at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4521599022
then, click on "ask seller a question" and ask him if he has one for your car, or can get one.
There are quite a few other folks out there specializing in old Mopar parts, just use a Google search to find them.
If you are going to keep this car, I advise joining either the Plymouth club or the WPC Chrysler products club - and watch the publications for people who advertise that they have parts for sale.
