Classic/Antique Car Repair: transmission leak, speedometer cable, transmission leak
QuestionMy 1966 mustang has a transmission leak. i have taken it to a tranny shop and was told it was from the speedometer cable. i have had the cable replaced and still leaks, any ideas?
AnswerNothing profound comes to mind. If the fluid is coming out around the speedometer cable fitting, there is a bad seal in there somewhere - I'd take it back and hold their feet to the fire until they find it and fix it. There really can't be a lot to this problem - nothing expensive, anyway.
Good luck.
Dick.
