Classic/Antique Car Repair: windshield scratches, windshield scratches, surface scratches

Hi Tom, I don't have a classic car, but do you know how to remove scratches and smears on my windshield caused by metal parts of the wiper blade moving back and forth? Thanks.

Hello Larry,
It depends on how deep the glass is scratched! I have removed scratches in windows on boats by using a polishing compound that I purchased from a local jeweler. It will in most cases polish out surface scratches, however if the scratch in your window is deep it may require several attempts.
