I would like to know what would be involved electricly,to wire up a modern GM alternator into my '57 Ford Fairlane.I'm not into altering my mostly original antique,I'm only in search of reliability.

Ron, this is a good idea and I think you're right on track.  Unfortunately, I've not had the opportunity to test this idea myself.  Here's a site that shows how another Ford owner made this conversion:
