i got new mirror glass and  need to know how to get the mirror glass mount to stay in position, 1998 dodgedakota sport drivers side

Hi Ryan,
The closest manual I have is an '04 and that one has nothing to offer about mounting the door mirror. Why not go to a dealer and ask at the parts counter to look at the drawings for the door/mirror part from the '98 parts catalog. It will probably be clear from that what you need to do.
