Dodge Repair: Brakes locking up, dodge grand caravan, question pool
QuestionI have a 2002 dodge grand caravan with a 3.8 v6
My front brakes started to drag and smoke ( both sides
I started to replace calipers but notice that the cylinders were freely moving if i let fluid drain out.
After some checking I found that if I pull out the ABS Fuse the brakes seem to work fine other then the ABS and Brake light being on. Once I replace the fuse the brakes start dragging again. Any thoughts? Joe
AnswerI just found this question in the Question pool so I'll do my best to help you. It would appear that you have a soleniod energizing in the ABS ECU. This would cause the brakes to drag in the fashion you described. This can be caused by a failing ABS ECU or its related wiring. Having a thorough diagnotic performed by someone with the proper tools and knowledge would be the best thing to do at this point.
