Dodge Repair: power door lock, dodge dakota, actuator

QUESTION: How can I open the passenger door on my 2000 Dodge Dakota 4-door when the power door lock won't unlock the door? I need to check the switch or replace it.

ANSWER: were the door locks buzzing b4 it quit?

the actuator is locked up now.  now u pretty much get to do what ever u can to get the door panel off and try and get the door open.

FYI next time it start buzzing replace it then and don't wait a few months to get it taken care of so this does not happen again  U were in the unlucky 50% that is stopped in the lock position.
