Dodge Repair: cam position sensor, camshaft position sensor, timing chain cover

where is the cam position sensor located on 5.7l hemi 2003 ram 1500 how do i replace it ?

Answer
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 5.7L V-8 engine is located on right side of timing chain cover below generator (CMP LOCATION – 5.7L).

Disconnect electrical connector at CMP sensor.
Remove sensor mounting bolt (CMP REMOVAL / INSTALLATION – 5.7L V-8).
Carefully twist sensor from cylinder head.
Check condition of sensor o-ring.
