Dodge Repair: Instrument cluster, dodge ram, instrument cluster

Question
I have a 2004 dodge ram 5.7V8 auto and the cluster died. I have a place where I can get one used at a fair price but it seems that the part # I have applies to all the clusters (diesel, 4.7, 3.7) all share the same part#. How do I know if it's the right one???

U cant get a used one  it does not work like that any more  the cluster is now a computer in itself and has software and a vin to only that truck  if u put one in that is from another truck  u will have things that wont work and so on. Only way is to get a dealer ot order u one or find a place that sells reman ones and has the stuff programed in there for u.
