Dodge Repair: 1996 2500 ram truck(diesel), ram truck, steering wheel

I have play in steering column. need to replace shaft.Lower U joint worn out. Replaced gear box(dealer)6 months ago.I need to save cash. How do i replace this shaft? What tools are needed?

if u are talking about the coupler that is connecting the inside part to the outside part  U would haft to replace the whole steering wheel column assembly. Unless u can get something after market  to which I dont know and I dont have instructions to do that.
