Dodge Repair: ignition cyl 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L, dodge ram 2500, lock smith

I bought a new switch and got the cyl but was told to save $$ I could take the tumbler/pin from my old one and put into my new unit. Think I can do this but just need the steeps on how. Or can I use my old cyl/part? Thank you for any help. Sam in OREGON. GREAT SITE.

the only thing I would use would be the tumblers  or pay a lock smith to do it for u. There is no steps that I can post on here to tell U its just something that U are taught and shown.  Plus a switch is on the back haft the electrical part  not the key part. Which is it u are trying to replace and Y?
