i bought this van knowing the trans was no good. I pulled it into the drive and it sputtered slightly. I pulled the old trans and replaced it (727 526sbl converter).When I got it back together I test drove it and it ran terrible. the trans seemed to work fine though. I left it out in the drive with the key in the on position all night. I charged it and then it would not start. I checked fuel pump and spark. Seems to be good with fuel. From relentless cranking the muffler exploded. The spark I cannot confirm. I replaced the cap rotor plugs wires coil and distributor pick up. I can't seem to get a consistant spark out of it.With a plug and a new wire i tested the coil and is good but will not run through the cap propperly. When I crank it turns but hangs for a split second when it seems to want to kick over. I ended up getting a new starter for it.

i did diagnostic this morning and got five codes.
12- battery power to pcm was disconnected
disconnected to change starter
45- trans temp sensor voltage less than 1.55 volts
trans temp sensor voltage greater than 3.76 volts
trans temp sensor no rise after start
governer pressure sensor volts too low or high
o\d switch pressed (lo) more than 5 min
33- a\c clutch relay circut open or shorted
37- torque converter clutch solenoid|trans relay open or shorted torque converter part throttle unlock solenoid control circut (3 sp auto rh trans only) (which is what I have)
trans 3to4 shift sol\trans relay circut current state of output port for the solenoid is different from expected
park\neutral switch incorrect input state auto trans
governer pressure incorrect
i also got a code of 55 but have no defenition
AnswerHello code 55 is end of test.
you are showing 45 is check the wireing from the tranny shift senser it is in the tranny .
the ac 33 pull wire out of ac comproser should clear the code for now
And is it the right tranny in the van might have to change the tourk converter
