2.Disconnect the fuel lines. There are two fuel lines that connect to the fuel pump. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the fuel lines in place and disconnect them.
3. Remove the fuel pump lock ring. The fuel pump lock ring is located around the base of the fuel pump. Use a screwdriver to pry the lock ring off.
4. Remove the fuel pump. Once the lock ring is removed, you can pull the fuel pump out of the tank.
5. Inspect the fuel pump. Inspect the fuel pump for any damage. If the fuel pump is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
6. Install the new fuel pump. If the fuel pump is not damaged, you can reinstall it. To do this, insert the fuel pump into the tank and secure it with the lock ring.
7. Reconnect the fuel lines. Reconnect the fuel lines to the fuel pump and tighten the bolts that hold them in place.
8. Test the fuel pump. Turn on the ignition and listen for the fuel pump to run. If the fuel pump does not run, check the electrical connections to the fuel pump.
